After I setup my blog, I wanted a client to write my blog posts easily, so I went in search of the best and free blog clients.

My blog posts generally will have tutorials, step by step instructions with Images and videos, reviews of things.

So my requirements for a software are …..


Primary Requirements:

  1. WYSIWYG Rich text editor
  2. Easy Image insertion
  3. Embed Videos
  4. Upload/Attach Files to a post
  5. Free :) (Since, this is a personal blog, I don’t care about licenses, as long as it is free)

 

Secondary Requirements:

  1. Spell Checker
  2. Formatting
  3. Tagging
  4. Editing Previous Posts
  5. Inserting Hyperlinks
  6. Code Colorization
  7. Copy and Paste from Excel or other MS software

 

Nice To Have:

  1. Integrated RSS Feed Reader
  2. A mobile and/or web component
